The best conversations I've had started with someone already knowing what I'm interested in. So here it is, plainly. I'm not taking full-time roles right now; I'm in school and building, and both of those have my heart. Everything else is open.
What I'm good at. Translating between rooms that don't speak to each other: engineers and policy people, field operators and executives, the people who care about the work and the people who care about the deck. Product management for systems that have to actually function, real specs, real tradeoffs, real users who depend on the thing. Reading a broken process and finding the exact seam where it stopped serving the person inside it. Writing things down so other people can do the work without me in the room.
What I'm interested in right now. NG9-1-1 advisory and consulting, which I've done from enough sides to be useful fast: standards, data, product, and the operational reality underneath all three. Getting tooling into the hands of the people actually sitting in the GIS chair, whoever they are and however their shop is staffed, because they're the ones holding the data together and they're usually the last ones anybody builds for. Public health and public safety as a single field rather than two. Universal design applied to infrastructure nobody thinks of as designed. And anything, in any sector, where the map and the ground have drifted apart.
Good reasons to reach out. You maintain NG9-1-1 GIS data and want to test the NENA Schema Converter. You want to know when the larger Groundtruth validation tool is ready for testing. You work in public safety, public health, GIS, or another field where the quality of location data matters. You are building something related and want another set of eyes on it. You read something here and have a different perspective. You have an idea that might be better if we worked on it together.
You do not need a polished pitch. A straightforward email is fine.
